Is the Caliphate a dream?
None of the Muslim leaders were elected by their people save one or two. Many assumed power through a Coup d’état such as General Musharraf of Pakistan. No matter how hard the governments try to suppress Islamic political movements and their culture they cannot stop an idea. The idea of a Caliphate is now deep rooted among the Muslims. It’s slowly rising up through the officer class of the armed forces. It’s only a matter of time before one or more senior army officers in the Muslim world decide enough is enough and do the right thing – removing the current dictator and replacing him with a Caliph. Presidential Candidate Fears “Gulf Of Tonkin” To Provoke Iran War
In February 2006, documents were leaked of a conversation between British Prime Minister Tony Blair and President Bush in which different scenarios to try to provoke Saddam into making a rod for his own back were discussed. One included painting a U.S. spy plane in UN colors and flying it low over Iraq in the hope it would be shot down and the incident exploited as a means of enlisting international support for the 2003 invasion. Chavez and Iran unite against US
The presidents of Iran and Venezuela have agreed to spend billions of dollars to help other countries free themselves from US domination.
Hugo Chavez made the comments in a speech on Saturday with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is on a tour of Latin America.
The two also called for Opec oil production cuts to support falling crude prices.
They had previously announced plans to establish a joint $2bn fund for projects in Venezuela and Iran but on Saturday they said that the money would also be used to help friendly third countries.
“This fund, my brother,” Chavez said, “will become a mechanism for liberation.”
Chavez said the fund “will permit us to underpin investments … above all in those countries whose governments are making efforts to liberate themselves from the [US] imperialist yoke”. Continue reading

Death and Destruction for Somalis – Return of the Warlords – By AMINA MIRE
The latest Ethiopian invasion of Somalia is a conflict is between the Islamic Courts Union (ICU) and US-sponsored Alliance for the Restoration of Peace and Counter-Terrorism (ARPCT), a group of Somali warlords backed by Ethiopia and the US. After the 1991 collapse of central authority in Somalia and ensuing civil war, the ICU emerged as a grassroots organization in response to the lawlessness, violence in the country. In the absence of central political authority and using ,primarily, Sharia law and other traditional Somali values (xeer and dhaqan), the ICU were able to bring law and order throughout the country. They were also able to provide essential services such as healthcare and education. In this way, ICU courts were the only source of stability for civil society while warlords continue to terrorize ordinary Somalis. Whilst the ICU were able clean drugs and guns from the streets in their communities, many attempts to forge transitional government failed because squabbles over power sharing. The current Transitional Federal Government is the latest of many such fruitless efforts. Continue reading
